I’m almost turning 33 and it’s never too soon to prevent as much oxidative stress and fight as many free radicals as I can. I want to look as amazing as Mama Le when I am in my 50s! I created this anti-aging smoothie that is loaded with long-term-health boosters. The fruit and Simply Slim tea are potent sources of antioxidants, slimming power, and the ground flaxseed is full of inflammation-fighting omega-3s. It also contains yogurt, a source of bone-strengthening calcium and immune-supporting probiotics. This not only tastes great but the vitamins, protein, and fiber will provide lasting energy for your day!

Alisa: Hi TC!

I heard of your ONO teas and was wondering if you have a tea made to help heal migraines or headaches? I can handle a little caffeine per day.
Thanks so much!

TC: Hi Alisa!

Caffeine can cause a “rebound” effect - you take it to get rid of the headache, which goes away but then comes back worse than ever. If possible, try to eliminate all sources of caffeine from your diet. Although you may experience withdrawal symptoms for a few days, including headaches, it will be worth the temporary suffering.

Mint and ginger help with headaches, so here are a few of my suggestions, both caffeine and caffeine-free. I offered some caffeinated suggestions just in case you can’t completely cut it out of your system.

LIGHT CAFFEINE -

ONO Moroccan Mint or Awakened Buddha green tea. Drink one or two cups of tea if you have a headache.

Simply Slim - the ginger in this tea inhibits a substance called thromboxane A2 that prevents the release of substances that make blood vessels dilate. I like to put grated fresh ginger or crushed ginger in this tea. Ginger is useful for migraines as well as other headaches.

All 3 of these teas are great with a dash of honey. Honey contains potassium and magnesium which will help relax the arteries and allow more blood to flow to the brain. This is very good if you feel a migraine coming on.

CAFFEINE-FREE -

ONO Holy Detox - great iced and safe to drink all day because it is caffeine free. It contains mint which helps with headaches. It also contains linden blossoms. In The British Herb Pharmacopoeia, linden is listed as a sedative for treating nervous tension and headaches. Researchers suspect that this herb heals migraines (and other vascular headaches) by improving blood circulation.

Sleepy Time - also great for headaches. Chamomile helps to calm your nerves and relax your muscles.

If you can get a massage before and after a couple cups of tea, that would be even better!

Have a great day and please let me know if you need anything else!

ONO MOROCCAN MINT TEA

INGREDIENTS:

* 8-10 sprigs fresh mint, plus extra for garnish
* 3 teaspoons ONO Moroccan Mint green tea
* 1/8 cup of agave nectar,3 tablespoons of sugar, or 1/8 teaspoon of stevia
* 4 cups water

DIRECTIONS:

1.Place the agave or sugar inside an ONO 5 cup teapot.
2.Combine 1/2 of the mint leaves and 3 Tablespoons of the Moroccan mint tea in the 5 Cup teapot’s filter or in a large filter tea bag.
4.Set out glasses for the tea.
5.A shot-glass is close to the slender glasses used in Morocco.
6.Pour the tea.
7.You want a nice foam on the tea so always pour with the teapot a high distance above the glasses.
8.If you do not have at least a little foam on the top of the first glass, then pour it back into the teapot and try again until the tea starts to foam up nicely.
9.Garnish with the remaining sprigs of mint or lime.
