Are You Dangerously Over-Caffeinated?

Are You Dangerously Over-Caffeinated?

Are you relying on energy drinks, soda, and coffee just to get you through the day?

Is a single cup of coffee no longer enough? Caffeine can be beneficial in small steady amounts. Caffeine can improve memory, decrease fatigue, improve your mental functioning. However, we live in an over-caffeinated nation and people are setting themselves for health problem. Coffee’s high caffeine content–typically twice as much as black tea and several times that of green–may raise blood pressure and decrease bone density. Too much caffeine stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin. This will lower blood sugar rate, making you hungry. This leads to obesity and diabetes. Research shows that caffeine can trigger migraines, heartburn, gastrointestinal problems and put women at an increased risk of miscarriage.

Depending on which report you read, the FDA suggests that approximately 200-300 mg of caffeine a day is safe.

Relying on high amounts of caffeine to get you going only leads to the dreadful crash and sluggish feeling because your body does not get the chance to recharge properly. Tea is a healthier and natural alternative and many people have started switching from concentrated sources of caffeine to tea. Caffeine found in tea is much lower than coffee or energy drinks and is also balanced by theanine….the calming agent.

White tea undergoes the least processing, has the highest concentration of L-theanine, an amino acid that, according to recent research, stimulates alpha brain waves to boost alertness while producing a calming effect. White tea, such as ONO Elixir of Life,  is less dehydrating since it contains the least amount of caffeine found in the tea plant. Another great drink that provides sustainable energy is ONO Entrepreneur Tea. This blend is the brain power tea, giving you natural energy from gingko and ginseng.

How To Restore Your Energy:

-    Reduce your sugar intake
-    Exercise at least 30 min a day
-    Drink lots of water
-    Drink ONO Antioxidant Green Tea or ONO Elixir of Life white tea
-    Have a good night’s sleep
-    Eat your daily fruits and veggies
-    Breathe properly
-    Surround yourself with positive upbeat people. A healthy spirit = a healthy body!
-    Moderation is the key to a healthy life
