TC’s 3 Day Juice and Tea Detox Journal

· Morning Ritual - For total body confidence, a detox program combining body brushing, exfoliation, detox body boosters and cleansing bathing rituals helps smooth away dead skin cells and stimulates the body to eliminate toxins. I used the ONO Super Mom sea salt body exfoliator and incorporated a hot and cold shower into my morning ritual. Take a normal shower then crank the heat to as hot as you can take it for a few seconds, then as cold as you can take it for a few seconds, then hot, then cold, then hot, then cold. End with whichever you feel most comfortable with. This technique helps mobilize stagnated fluids deep within the core of the body so that they can break up and recycle or have toxins within them removed from the system.

· 8:00a.m. - Big mug (approximately 2 cups or 16 oz) of ONO Serenity Now or Stomach Soother. These two teas contain potassium which is important for fasting–a cleansing, alkalizing and mineral-rich drink.

· 10:00 a.m. - 2 Cups of ONO Radiant Mango Smoothie.   mango

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup of ONO Radiant Beauty White Tea brewed strong and chilled (3 tsp per cup of steaming water)
1    mango, peeled and sliced
1    orange, peeled and sectioned
1/2  Fresh Peeled Cucumber
juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
* optional for diabetics add 1/2 banana. Bananas and avocados are slow to digest and will maintain a stable blood sugar level.

Process mango, orange and cucumber through your juicer. Pour the juice into a chilled glass. Enjoy!

· 12:00 p.m. - Cup of ONO Immunity Booster tea

· 12:30 p.m. - Walk outside (30 minutes).

· 1:30 p.m. - Large glass  of Geisha’s vegetable juice—undiluted (about 3 cups). mint1

1 cup of ONO Geisha Green Tea brewed strong and chilled (2 tsp per cup of steaming water)
1 fresh peeled cucumber
1 cup diced pineapple
2 sprigs fresh mint leaves
1/2 inch ginger root
juice of 1/2 lime
* optional for diabetics add 1/2 avocado. Bananas and avocados are slow to digest and will maintain a stable blood sugar level.

Process all the ingredients through your juicer. Pour the juice into a chilled glass. Enjoy!

· 3:30 p.m. - Cup of ONO Immunity Booster tea.

· 6:00 p.m. - Large Glass of Radiant Mango Smoothie or Geisha’s vegetable juice (about 3 cups).

· 8:00 p.m. - Therapeutic ONO Serenity Now Bath soak.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup old fashioned Rolled Oats - great for the skin
1/2 cup ONO Serenity Now loose tea
2 tea filter bag
string to tie
* optional rose petals

1. Mix the ingredients together and place 1/2 in each tea filter.
2. Tie with a string but make sure to leave room for the tea leaves to expand.
3. Throw both tea bags in a bath tub filled with warm water.

· 9:00 p.m. - 2 Cups of ONO Immunity Booster tea

· Drink plain, warmed water when thirsty (As much as you want.)

Day 1 of the juice detox wasn’t so bad because of these  invigorating juice recipes that tempt my taste buds.  When I did the ONO 10 day cleanse, it became a little boring because I had to drink so much of that lemonade cayenne pepper juice. This detox is so much easier on my body yet I still feel the effects of the cleanse. I woke up this morning a little sluggish with a slight headache. I remember feeling this way when I did the 10 day cleanse so I knew that it was normal to experience this. My body is just burning up and excreting accumulated wastes. Plus, after being in L.A. for almost 2 weeks, I’m sure I was exposed to many free radicals in the air. Free radicals are the toxins and poisons that age your body everyday. You are being exposed to free radicals every day, everywhere you go. They’re in the air you breathe, the food you eat, the water you drink. This is where antioxidants come in. Antioxidants are like “medicine” or a defense mechanism for your cells against these free radicals. They safely interact with the free radicals and basically cut off their domino effect before too much damage is caused. Some free radicals arise normally during metabolism. Sometimes the body’s immune system’s cells purposefully create them to neutralize viruses and bacteria. However, environmental factors such as pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides can also spawn free radicals.
Normally, the body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if the free-radical production becomes excessive, damage can occur.  The Lesson: Increase your antioxidant levels by — Eating Your Fruits and Vegetables and Drinking your ONO Tea!

I used the ONO Radiant Beauty Facial Scrub and incorporated a hot and cold shower into my morning ritual. This recipe is for a facial scrub but I went ahead and used it over my entire body. For the shower ritual, take a normal shower then crank the heat to as hot as you can take it for a few seconds, then as cold as you can take it for a few seconds, then hot, then cold, then hot, then cold. End with whichever you feel most comfortable with. This technique helps mobilize stagnated fluids deep within the core of the body so that they can break up and recycle or have toxins within them removed from the system.

ONO Radiant Beauty White Tea Scrub

INGREDIENTS:

4 medium-sized strawberries

½ cup of oatmeal

2 tablespoons of rice flour

2 tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons of sugar

1.5 tablespoons of ONO Radiant Beauty

PREPARATION:

Wash strawberries and remove the stems

In a food processor, all the ingredients except for the sugar. Mix until pureed. Place in a glass mixing bowl and stir in the sugar until it is completely dissolved.

Apply a small amount to your face and body and with circular motions, work the product into your skin. Repeat until you face is covered. The product may be left on your skin as a 10-min mask or removed immediately. You can keep this in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 4 days.

An important tip: Because this homemade treatment does not contain preservatives like its store-bought counterparts do, you will want to make it fresh before each use.

· 8:00a.m. - Big mug (approximately 2 cups or 16 oz) of ONO Serenity Now or Stomach Soother. These two teas contain potassium which is important for fasting–a cleansing, alkalizing and mineral-rich drink.

· 10:00 a.m. - 3 Cups of ONO Elixir of Life Berry Juice. I made two glasses and drank it within a couple hours.

INGREDIENTS:  pm

1 cup of ONO Elixir of Life White Tea brewed strong and chilled (3 tsp per cup of steaming water)
1/2 cup strawberries quartered
1 cup fresh pomegranate juice
1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Process all the ingredients through your juicer or blender. Pour the juice into a glass with ice cubes. Garnish with fruit and enjoy!

· 12:00 p.m. - Cup of ONO Holy Detox tea

· 12:30 p.m. - Since it was raining and cold outside, I walked on the treadmill on an incline of 7 (30 minutes).

· 1:30 p.m. - Large glass  of ONO Radiant Beauty Veggie Juice  (about 3 cups split into 2 portions).   beet

Vitamin A is essential for healthy, radiant skin and you’ll get it in abundance from the carrots. The bonus comes from the radishes—their natural constituents stimulate the cleansing function of the liver, making this the perfect juice when you’ve been a bit overindulgent or your digestive system seems slightly sluggish.

First layer:
1 large beet, peeled, topped and tailed
4 small radishes
handful of kale
handful of parsley
juice of 1/2 lemon

2nd layer
1 cup of ONO Radiant Beauty White Tea brewed strong and chilled (3 tsp per cup of steaming water)
1 apple, quartered
1 large carrot, topped, tailed, and peeled
juice of 1/2 lemon

DIRECTIONS:

1. Process the first layer ingredients through a blender.
2. Pour in a glass.
3. Process the second layer ingredients through a blender.
4. Fill the rest of the  glass and garnish with a celery stick (if you have it on hand) and a carrot.

· 3:30 p.m. - Cup of ONO Holy Detox tea.

· 6:00 p.m. - Large Glass of Elixir of Life Berry Juice or Radiant Beauty vegetable juice (about 3 cups).

· 8:00 p.m. - Therapeutic ONO Sleepy Time Bath soak.

What is better than soaking in smooth tub of milk? Adding the antioxidant powers of tea of course! In this recipe I used ONO Sleepy Time which contains chamomile to help you unwind, and rooibos to help soothe your skin. Light a few candles, put on your favorite tunes, and get ready to detox, unwind, and escape.

INGREDIENTS:
2 tea filters
string

1 cup of ONO Sleepy Time Tea
2 cups of dry milk powder
1 cup of cornstarch

4-6 drops of lavender oil
DIRECTIONS:

1. Combine tea, milk powder, and cornstarch in a bowl.
2. Divide in half
3. Put half in a tea filter and tie with a string. Don’t tie it too tight- leave room for the leaves to expand when it hits the warm bath water. Repeat with the other tea filter.
4. Place the bags in a warm bath tub and relax.

· 9:00 p.m. - 2 Cups of ONO Immunity Booster tea

********** Day 3 ~ Last Day! **********

I’m on Day 3 of my juice and ONO tea detox. I woke up with a slight head ache, perspiring a little more, and a slight sore throat - that means my body is burning up and excreting even more accumulated wastes. I immediately had a cup of ONO Kapha mixed with Holy Detox, started my morning bath ritual and felt so much better .

· Morning Ritual - This morning I decided to give myself an ONO Jasmine-Vanilla body scrub to smooth away dead skin cells and stimulate the body to eliminate toxins. I love this scrub because of the healing and aromatic properties of jasmine. Jasmine is the oldest aphrodisiac flower on earth and has been used to relax the nerves. It is considered a romantic enhancer, helping all aspects of love. Traditional Chinese medicine recommends it to decrease nervous tension, to increase circulation, and to break down saturated fat. Today, jasmine is known in alternative health care as an effective anti-depressant–good for anxiety, lethargy, sadness, lack of confidence, fearfulness, paranoia, post-natal depression, and menopause problems. I incorporated the ONO jasmine scrub into my hot and cold shower ritual. Take a normal shower then crank the heat to as hot as you can take it for a few seconds, then as cold as you can take it for a few seconds, then hot, then cold, then hot, then cold. · 10:00 a.m. - 3 Cups of ONO Papaya Slimming Smoothie. I made two glasses and drank it within a couple hours.

INGREDIENTS:  papaya-smoothie
1/4 cup silken tofu, chilled
2 cups diced papaya
1 cup of ONO Slim it Sencha green tea brewed strong and chilled (2 tsp per cup of steaming water)
4 ounces Mangosteen Juice
4 mint leaves

Combine all ingredients  in a blender and puree until smooth.
Papaya - Papaya enables the gastrointestinal tract to cleanse easily.

Mangosteen - antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties

ONO Slim it Sencha - A recent study has shown that daily catechin intake (588mg of catechin for 12 weeks) can reduce weight, especially body fat. Catechin is produced in the tea plant to protect it against UVB radiation, and Sencha is the most exposed to the sunlight. As a result, Sencha leaves have the most catechin.

· 12:00 p.m. - Cup of ONO Immunity Booster tea

· 12:30 p.m. - It was a beautiful Fall day so I took a walk outside (30 minutes).

· 1:30 p.m. - Large glass  of ONO Super Man vegetable juice—(about 3 cups). Yes, women can drink Super Man tea too.  :)

Super Man Green juice has a ridiculous amount of greens in it (a huge heaping trayful, to be exact), and tastes surprisingly good. The added benefit is the significant increase in energy and general well-being I feel on the mornings I have it for breakfast.

INGREDIENTS:   green

1 cup ONO Super Man Green Tea brewed strong and chilled (2 tsp per cup of steaming water)
2 apples
2 celery stalks
1 cucumber
1 (1-to-2-inch) piece of ginger
1 lemon, peeled
3 cups spinach leaves
handful of parsley

Juice all washed ingredients in a juicer or blender.

Here is a short list of the maladies these ingredients are good for:

ONO Super Man Green Tea - Reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis. Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.

Apple— Liver, intestines, blood cleanser.

Spinach— Anemia, eczema, regenerates damaged intestinal tracts, constipation, circulation problems, cleans liver and glands.

Ginger root— Circulation, motion sickness, nausea, laryngitis, clears mucous in the throat, sinuses and lungs.

Celery—Kidneys, diabetes, osteoporosis, good for people who sweat in excess, muscle cramps, fatigue, anxiety, stress, insomnia, headaches, air pollution, sweet cravings, low blood pressure, and obesity.

Cucumber—Edema, diabetes, tendonitis, skin tone, muscle tone, complexion problems, poor nail growth.

· 3:30 p.m. - Cup of ONO Holy Detox tea.

· 6:00 p.m. - Large Glass of Papaya Slimming Smoothie or Super Man vegetable juice (about 3 cups).

· 8:00 p.m. - Anti-aging Fountain of Youth Bath soak.

    Thi sounds like the most perfect day… from the exfoliator, to the teas, the smoothies, the juice, and then the perfect relaxing bath. Ah… total bliss!
