PEACH GRANITA WITH APRHODISIAC JASMINE GREEN TEA

PEACH GRANITA WITH APRHODISIAC JASMINE GREEN TEA

peachy

It’s a hot sunny day here in L.A. I’m making one of Blazo’s favorite desserts - PEACH GRANITA and infusing it with ONO Queen Jasmine Pearl green tea. Peaches and nectarines are good sources of lycopene and lutein.  Lutein gives the red, orange, and yellow colors to fruits and vegetables.  The phytochemicals in jasmine tea and peaches are good for the prevention of heart disease, macular degeneration, and cancer. Jasmine also helps your body absorb less fat and cholesterol.

Here is my delicious recipe:

INGREDIENTS:     jasmine-smell1

* 1 cup water
* 1/2 cups sugar  ( or 1/2 tsp stevia)
* about 3 cups of ripe, peeled and diced peaches
* 1/2 tablesppoon of fresh lemon juice
* 2 tsp of ONO Queen Jasmine Pearls

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a saucepan, heat together the water, ONO Queen Jasmine Pearls, and sugar over medium to high heat until the sugar dissolves, about five minutes. Strain and put back into the pan.
2. Add the peaches and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the peaches are soft, about fifteen minutes.
3. Remove from the heat, stir in the lemon juice and let cool.
4. Puree until smooth in a blender, working in batches if necessary or if the mixture is still warm.
5. Pour into a wide, shallow pan or bowl and place in the freezer. Stir the mixture with a fork every hour at first, then every half hour once it starts to set up, making sure to scrape up the sides and the bottom of the bowl. It should be frozen through in about four to six hours, and will hold its texture in the freezer for one to two days.
