ONO Slimming Tofu Saute

Slimming Tip #1: Eat foods that are high in water content, such as broccoli and yellow zucchini, to help you control cravings and help you stay slim. Not only is this meal delicious, it helps you feel full with less calories because of the high water content in the veggies and the infusion of ONO Simply Slim tea.

Slimming Tip #2:  Drink 1 cup before the meal and have 2 cups during the meal. The ginger and peach in this tea are perfect complements to this Asian inspired dish.

Slimming Tip #3: Drink HOT beverages such as an ONO Slimming Tea after meals. Why? Because cold water will solidify any oils you’ve consumed which slows down your digestion.


Ingredients:

Sauce:

1 cup of ONO Simply Slim tea

½ cup of pineapple chunks with juice

¼ cup of brown sugar

2 Tablespoons of soy sauce

2 Tablespoon of red wine vinegar

2 Tablespoons of cornstarch
1 lb of firm tofu cubed (you can also use any meat or seafood)

½  teaspoon of sea salt

3 Tablespoon of olive oil

1 cup of yellow onions thinly sliced

1 Tablespoon of minced garlic

1 Tablespoon of minced ginger

2 cups of broccoli floret

1 cup of yellow zucchini cut into thin strips

½ cup of thinly sliced shitake mushrooms

¼ cup of sliced scallions

Directions:

  1. Make the ONO Simply Slim tea and set aside to cool
  2. Combine all the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  3. Cut the tofu into ½ inch cubes  and sprinkle with sea salt
  4. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the oil. When the oil is hot, add the tofu and cook for a 2-3 minutes, turning once until the tofu browns. Add the sliced onions and cook until it is lightly golden. Add the ginger and garlic and the rest of the vegetables.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 2-3 minutes until the veggies soften.
  6. Add the sauce then cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Top with scallions and serve.
