Calling All Super Moms

Did you know that you, working mothers,  are the largest demographic dealing with chronic tiredness and fatigue? Do you find yourself pulling a “second shift” at home after a long day of work?  Are you depending on high-caffeinated energy drinks, soft drinks, or coffee just “to get through your day?” A study by an independent nonprofit research group, The National Sleep Foundation, found that more than 65 percent of moms drink caffeinated beverages to get through their day. Today’s moms have become champion multitaskers who are just as comfortable using their PDAs as they are making apple pies. This super mom syndrome is causing a toll on your life. Face it, you can’t do it all without facing stress and anxiety.

It’s time to take a few steps back to find balance. Stay healthy, cherish your family, sit back and appreciate what is in front of you. If you can’t take care of yourself, chances are you wont be able to take care of your loved ones either. Here are some tips to help de-stress and find some balance in your hectic schedule.

Your Health

- Take a 10 min break during the day. That is the perefct time to take deep breaths and give thanks for all the great things in your life.

- Try to do something active at least 20 min a day. Getting busy in bed is a great way to release endorphins that improve your mood and decrease symptoms of stress.

- Stay away from drinks that give you the jolt and crash. Avoid that quick fix and you’ll be on your way to a healthier and happier life.

- Make a spa appointment for yourself at least once and month and make sure you keep it. Remember, you deserve it!

 

Your Family
